FAQ
Where do you work?
I work out of Ship Shape Tattoo, Auckland
My minimum is $200, this ensures you receive quality pigments and equipment and a sterile setup in the most hygienic environment.
I’m only want something small, What your minimum charge?
When it comes to a larger-scale tattoo, there are numerous aspects that come into play when it comes to creating a quote (from the amount of detail, colour, size and so on) The best thing to do is flick me an email and let’s book in a complimentary consultation, where we can chat about the idea and we can go from there.
What if I want something bigger, what’s the cost?
Yes! I have a whole book of designs available that you are more than welcome to come to the studio and check out. I also place a bunch of my ready designs on Instagram.
Do you have designs ready to go?
I realise life happens and things change, the more time you give me the more time I have to fill that spot. I do send out reminders and if you reschedule/cancel your appointment within 72 hours you do lose your deposit. If You change your booking before the 72 hours the deposit will be honoured and moved to the new booking date. Deposits are NON REFUNDABLE.
I need to change my appointment, what do I need to do there?
I usually show the design on the day of the booking, because I don’t add all the shading and details, and the design can look a tad off, I like to show the design to you and talk you through what we are going to do, explain the shading I’m doing, so before we start you are fully on board and you know exactly what the process will be for the day. I like to keep my clients clued up on the design and keep the communication flowing. If you really want to see the design we can book another follow-up consult and we can have a chat about the design. This is done in person. I don’t send custom work via email or Instagram.
Can I see my design before the booking?
Get a good night’s sleep, and be rested, and calm. Make sure you bring snacks, water and headphones if you want to listen to your tunes, podcast or your fave show.
What do I need to do to prepare for my tattoo?
I love my new tattoo, but how do I look after it?
Before you leave I will run down the aftercare, but if you need a reminder please refer to the aftercare page.
Numbing cream is not my favourite. a number of artists, including myself find that the tattoo doesn’t heal the best. a few of them include ingredients that hold water retention in the area that the ink doesn’t want to stay in the skin, therefore, we end up having to work in the area more than we should. I do not offer touch-ups if numbing cream is used. Other complications that occur using numbing cream is the increase in heart rates. so if you’ve had coffees, energy drinks, and then numbing cream, your poor heart is going through it. If you still want to use numbing cream, please talk to me about it before, and I can recommend some creams, talk you through the application process.
What are your thoughts on numbing cream?
